Gabrielle Malina, Ph.D.
I am a passionate and experienced admissions essay coach, eager to help clients tell their stories and build confidence as writers. I hold a Ph.D. in Government and Social Policy from Harvard University and have taught academic writing at the university level, allowing me to provide expert narrative, technical, and editorial advice to clients. During graduate school and since graduating, I have coached numerous high school seniors, medical school applicants, and doctoral applicants through the application writing process.
I recognize that the application experience can be both stressful and exciting, and I enjoy supporting and encouraging students through the ups and downs of the writing process. My coaching is supportive, collaborative, and flexible; designed to minimize the stressful parts of the process and maximize personal exploration and growth. I love working with students — getting to know them personally, helping them explore their academic interests, and helping them refine and communicate their ideas, whether for a research paper or a college application essay.
I am originally from Columbus, IN and currently live in Somerville, MA. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, skiing, hitting the beaches around New England, reading, cooking, and exploring the world of natural wine.
